With the arrival of warm weather in the Silifke district of Mersin, snow brought from the foothills of the Taurus Mountains is offered as a refreshing treat called 'karsambaç,' served with molasses or fruit syrup.

In Silifke, Muzaffer Beslenti, who brings snow from the Bulgar Bozoğlan Plateau in the Taurus Mountains, stores it in the back of his truck and offers it for sale in the market. Bags of snow are sold for 20 TL, while cups of karsambaç prepared with molasses or fruit syrup are sold for approximately 25 TL. Beslenti, who stated that he has been doing this job for 20 years, said, "This traditional refreshment is perfect for those looking for a natural and delicious alternative in the summer heat."

In addition to the local people, foreign tourists coming to the holiday resorts also show interest in the markets to taste this delicacy.
