NUMBER OF FOREIGN TOURISTS IN ANTALYA EXCEEDED 16 MILLION

As of October 27, the total number of foreign tourists arriving in Antalya by air exceeded 16 million. With over 2 million foreign tourists, October also came very close to the summer months, which are considered high season.

It was stated that despite the wars in the north and south, global economic problems, and numerous crisis environments this year in Antalya tourism, October did not fall short of the summer months, which are called the high season. As of October 27, the total number of tourists arriving by air in the city, which has two airports in Antalya and Gazipaşa, was 16 million 97 thousand people, and as of the same day, the number of tourists in October reached 2 million 6 thousand. In the tourism sector, which continues with small increases compared to last year, activity is expected to continue especially in the first half of November. This year, many tour operators announced that they have extended their operations until the end of November, due to air temperatures affected by global warming.

While tourist numbers by country for October have not yet been finalized, looking at the data as of September, most tourists came to Antalya from Russia. According to 9-month data, 3 million 306 thousand people came from Russia, and 2 million 702 thousand people came from Germany, which ranked second. In addition to these two major main markets of Antalya, 1 million 298 thousand people came from the United Kingdom, which reached the position of a new main market in third place, and 1 million 101 thousand people came from Poland, which was fourth.

HEAVY AIR TRAFFIC

According to data from the last week of October, the intensity of air traffic in Antalya's airspace, where the number of tourists exceeded 16 million, also drew attention. As of October 27, looking at international flights, 11,259 aircraft arrived, and with a total of 11,250 departing aircraft, international air traffic in October exceeded 22,500. The total number of domestic and international passengers exceeded 4 million 643 thousand.

PRICES INCREASED IN WORLD TOURISM

Recep Yavuz, Chairman of the Antalya City Council Tourism Working Group, stated that world tourism is approaching its end in 2025 with an average increase of 5-8 percent, adding, "Spain, Greece, Italy, China, and Egypt, in particular, had their best seasons. China's re-entry changes the top 5 rankings. Turkey is concluding the year with a small increase. In addition to the war atmosphere, rising prices curbed Turkey's momentum. Antalya, on the other hand, is finishing the year slightly above 2024, as expected at the beginning of the season. Antalya's main competitors, Hurghada, Mallorca, and Crete, despite achieving numerical increases, complain about a decrease in revenues. Worldwide holiday expenses increased by 20-40 percent in 2025. Despite this, 1.5 billion people traveled. Durations shortened, periods changed, and the high season spread from 3 months to autumn and spring. In 2026, prices will determine the fate of destinations."
