TROY WILL BE EXHIBITED AT THE COLOSSEUM, THE HEART OF ROME
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy said, "We are once again bringing Turkey's unique cultural heritage to the Colosseum, the heart of Ancient Rome. World heritage site Troy will meet art lovers in 2026 at the Colosseum Archaeological Park Area in Rome."
In a statement on his social media account, Minister Ersoy said, "We are once again bringing Turkey's unique cultural heritage to the Colosseum, the heart of Ancient Rome. Now it's Troy's turn. World heritage site Troy will meet art lovers in 2026 at the Colosseum Archaeological Park Area in Rome. Following last year's 'Göbeklitepe: The Mystery of a Sacred Place' and this year's 'Magna Mater' exhibitions, it has now been decided to organize a 'Troy' themed exhibition at the Colosseum. As a concrete result of the bilateral talks we held in Rome in September and in Ankara this month, we signed a mutual letter of intent on December 11. This exhibition, which will be prepared with works selected from the collections of museums in Turkey and Italy, especially the Troy Museum, will be crowned with the Troy Opera prepared by our Ministry's General Directorate of State Opera and Ballet. The narrative of Troy will this time meet an international audience in Rome through performing arts."
