Mint Organization Founder Engin Çetinay presented plaques to the institutions and organizations that supported the event.
MUĞLA DEPUTY GOVERNOR CEVHEROĞLU: MAY NO ONE BE WITHOUT THE JOY OF LIFE AND SPORTS
Muğla Deputy Governor Halil Serdar Cevheroğlu stated in his speech at the ceremony, "We had organized a similar event with this team in Uludağ when we were on duty in Bursa. Later, we couldn't leave such a beautiful geography without such an event. Last year we did the first one, and this year we are doing the second one all together. There is a very sincere team. Most importantly, so many people have come here with their children and are here with the enthusiasm for life and sports. I thank everyone who contributed. May no one be without the joy of life and sports."
ENGİN ÇETİNAY: WE COMPLETED THE RACE IN MAGNIFICENT WEATHER
Mint Organization Founder Engin Çetinay reminded that this year marks the second edition of the race, saying, "We completed the race in magnificent weather. Activating the Carian Way this year also honored and delighted us. I believe it significantly contributes to the district in terms of tourism. Approximately 2,500 to 3,000 people have come due to the race. Next year, we will move the organization to April, and we welcome everyone. We also thank our main sponsor Anadolu Sigorta for their support."
"THE RUNNING SECTOR AND CULTURE ARE STILL DEVELOPING IN TURKEY"
Engin Çetinay, who is also an ultra-marathon runner, stated, "The running sector and culture are still developing in Turkey. When we look abroad, I can say we are still crawling; we haven't even reached 10% of our potential. The biggest feature of Anadolu Sigorta Marmaris Ultra is that 2 of its courses are entirely on technical terrain along the Carian Way. The other 3 courses are on runnable terrain. Therefore, it is a course that appeals to runners of all levels. There's something about running; if an athlete comes and competes, and the course feels too tough, they might give up running. We don't want that. When organizing the event, we try to keep the spectrum wide. You saw the energy in the children's run today; if even 10 children are inspired by sports from that, it's a fantastic event for us. What saddens us most when we go abroad is that everyone walks as a family on weekends, and we want to develop this culture further with our runner friends' families and communities."
"WE WILL ADD ENERGY HERE IN APRIL NEXT YEAR"
Emphasizing that they chose dates to extend the region's tourism season, Engin Çetinay said, "It's November, the season here has closed, but contributing to the local economy for one more week is very important for us. We will hold the organization in April next year. This time, we will add energy here at the start of the season. So to speak, it will 'dust off' the place."
