ROMA KOLEZYUMU, MEVLEVİ SEMASINA SAHNE OLDU
In an event organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Italy, the Colosseum, one of the symbolic structures of Ancient Rome, hosted a Mevlevi Sema ceremony.
According to the statement made by the Ministry, the Konya Metropolitan Municipality Turkish Sufi Music and Sema Ensemble organized a Mevlevi Sema Ceremony at the Colosseum. The special show, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Italy, with the contributions of the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, was attended by Deputy Minister Gökhan Yazgı, Konya Metropolitan Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay, Rome Ambassador Elif Çomoğlu Ülgen, and numerous Turkish and Italian guests.
'RISING TO 4TH PLACE IS NOT A COINCIDENCE'
Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Gökhan Yazgı made statements to the press before the Sema ceremony at the Colosseum. Stating that they came to give peace messages to the world in the shadow of a symbolic structure, Yazgı said that they are working to explain Turkish culture, art, and archeology in many parts of Europe. Emphasizing that Turkey has always become a country that makes a name for itself in the world with its culture, art, and archeology, Yazgı noted that they are progressing with firm steps towards becoming a leading country in tourism as well. Yazgı emphasized that Turkey's rise to 4th place in world tourism is not a coincidence, and underlined that they continue to work to promote the country, to fully explain Anatolia to the world with its cultural assets, gastronomic traditions, customs and traditions. Yazgı also touched upon the Göbeklitepe exhibition, which was closed in the Colosseum again in the past months and exceeded 6.5 million visitors, and said that they have signed a study that has made a name for itself in the world.
'MEVLANA'S MESSAGES ARE GUIDING'
Deputy Minister Gökhan Yazgı also emphasized Mevlana's language of peace and the universal message he offered to humanity in his speech at the opening of the ceremony. Yazgı said, "Mevlana showed in every word and behavior that he came to the world not to separate, but to unite." Drawing attention to the depth of the Sema tradition, Yazgı said, "Mevlana is a great Sufi, a powerful poet and a profound thinker who can appeal beyond his era. His message has been shaped by Sema and has become a language of peace that reaches all humanity." Stating that the Mevlevi tradition was born from the teachings of Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi, Yazgı emphasized that this cultural heritage contributes to the common values of humanity. Referring to the conflicts and divisions experienced today, Yazgı said, "Today, in a world where wars and divisions are increasing, Mevlana's messages based on humanity, brotherhood and peace are a guide for all of us."
