Margaritaville at Sea Adds Its Largest Ship to Its Fleet

Margaritaville at Sea, which continues to grow in cruise tourism, is preparing to add its third ship to its fleet. According to the company's CEO Christopher Ivy, the ship Costa Fortuna, which is currently operated by Costa Cruises, will be re-launched with the Margaritaville concept at the end of 2026 or the beginning of 2027.

Costa Fortuna, with a capacity of 102,500 gross tons, will be Margaritaville at Sea's largest ship to date. The ship, with a capacity of 3,450 passengers, stands out with its 13 passenger decks and more than 1,340 cabins. This number is approximately 30% more than the capacity of the company's current ship Paradise.

Christopher Ivy stated that the size of the new ship is "the ideal size for seven-night or shorter trips," and stated that many of the concepts loved on the current ships will be transferred to the new ship with wider opportunities. Ivy also shared that they are working on new areas on the ship that can be specially reserved for Margaritaville's heroes – healthcare workers, soldiers and security forces.

While the homeport of the ship has not yet been announced, Costa Cruises will continue to operate the ship until the end of 2026. After this process, the ship will be redesigned in accordance with the Margaritaville style.

Margaritaville at Sea commissioned its first ship Paradise in 2022 and its second ship Islander last year. Both ships previously belonged to the Costa Cruises fleet. With the new investment, the brand aims to strengthen its growth strategy in the cruise segment.

The company did not share the financial details of the new ship agreement.
