The Ministry of National Education has denied reports that the summer holiday will be brought forward due to Eid al-Adha. The school closing date, which is of critical importance for the tourism sector, remains June 20, 2025, as previously announced.

Following news headlines in some media outlets such as "Summer holiday will be brought forward," the Ministry of National Education (MEB) denied the claims by making an official statement regarding the 2024-2025 academic year calendar. The Ministry reiterated that the academic year started on September 9, 2024, and will end on June 20, 2025, as planned.

School holiday dates, which are seen as the official start of the summer season for the tourism sector, are decisive in terms of both domestic tourism mobility and the season planning of businesses. For this reason, speculative news that the summer holiday would be brought forward caused short-term uncertainty in the sector.

However, with the MEB's statement, players in the tourism sector will continue their plans according to the previously announced calendar. Intense demand is expected until the last weeks of summer, especially in terms of family tourism, hotel concepts focused on kids' clubs and domestic tourist density.

Tourism professionals point out that the clarity of the education calendar is of critical importance in terms of pricing, personnel planning and marketing activities in the domestic market. As the Ministry reminded the public, the 2024-2025 academic year calendar was published on May 28, 2024 and has been accessible on the official website ever since.

It has become certain that these dates will continue to be the basis for the tourism sector's forecasts and strategies for the upcoming period.
