7 TURKISH GOLFERS WILL COMPETE IN TURKISH AIRLINES OPEN 2025
Turkish golfers who will compete in the Turkish Airlines Open 2025 to be held in Antalya spoke at the press conference. Mehmet Ceylan and Taner Yamaç, who will take the field in the professional category, said that they will do their best, while amateur golfers Can Gürdenli and İbrahim Tarık Aslan explained that they are excited to compete in a professional tournament for the first time.
Turkish golfers who will compete in the Turkish Airlines Open 2025, which will be held again in Antalya after 6 years, made statements at the press conference held before the tournament. Turkish Airlines Open Organizer Kemal Taşkınlı, professional athletes Ediz Kemaloğlu, Taner Yamaç, Ulaş Karataş, Mehmet Ceylan, and amateur golfers İbrahim Tarık Aslan and Can Gürdenli attended the meeting held at Carya Golf Club in Belek Tourism Center. Turkish athlete Leon Açıkalın, who will compete in the tournament, could not attend the meeting.
Professional golfer Mehmet Ceylan said, "It is a great opportunity to compete here. I accepted to compete in this tournament because I will play on my own field. It was my dream. I was very happy to play when I was given the chance. I will do my best, but we need to be realistic. I hope that qualifying for the second round will be a big goal for me. I would like one of the young people to qualify for the final because that is their job. I would like our 3 young people to achieve this very much," he said.
Professional golfer Taner Yamaç said, "I have played in this tournament 3 times as an amateur before. I will play as a professional for the first time. I am excited. We have made our preparations. I hope we will represent our country in the best way. I know the course very well. I don't have any pressure on me. I am very comfortable. There will inevitably be excitement in the first hole tomorrow. I am psychologically ready for now," he said.
Amateur golfer Can Gürdenli said, "I was very excited when I learned that I would compete in the tournament. I am still excited. I am participating in a professional tournament for the first time in my life. I am very lucky to start in such a tour for the first time. I am excited to play with professional famous golfers in such a big tournament. I will do everything I can," he said.
Amateur golfer İbrahim Tarık Aslan also said, "I have been playing golf for a long time, but I will be playing in such a tournament for the first time. There is excitement and happiness. I will not be closed off when I go out on the field. I will do more than I can. I will try to be happy," he said.
Turkish Airlines Open 2025 will start tomorrow morning and end on Sunday, May 11.
