GECE MÜZECİLİĞİNDE SEZON BAŞLIYOR
SICPA Turkey, within the scope of the "Night Museology" project implemented under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, enabled the opening of Ephesus and Hierapolis to night visits by illuminating a total area of 450 thousand square meters. SICPA Turkey CEO Sami Çebi, who shared the information that more than 260 thousand visitors visited the Ephesus Archaeological Site and more than 76 thousand visitors visited the Denizli Hierapolis Archaeological Site at night thanks to the project, said, "Especially in the summer months, domestic and foreign tourists who cannot visit these places during the day due to the heat, had the opportunity to visit both archaeological sites until 11:00 PM. The application will restart as of June. Turkey's night museology, which was a first last year, is now much more well-known at home and abroad. In the new season, we expect more visitors in both archaeological sites than the 2024 figures," he said.
The "Night Museology" application, which brings together Turkey's unique historical sites and rich cultural heritage with visitors in a completely different atmosphere after sunset and attracted great interest in its first year, restarts in June. SICPA Turkey, which works to improve the development of museum tickets and ticket products, strengthen sales channels, and generally improve the visitor experience in a total of 84 locations in museums and archaeological sites affiliated to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, National Palaces and Çanakkale Area Presidency, continues to support Turkish tourism with the projects it has implemented. In this context, the company illuminated 90 thousand square meters of the 930 thousand square meter Ephesus Archaeological Site and 360 thousand square meters of the 1 million 250 thousand square meter Denizli Pamukkale Archaeological Site within its area of responsibility in 2024, and brought them to night museology. Thanks to the application, approximately 350 thousand tourists visited both archaeological sites at night between April and September 2024.
Within the scope of Night Museology, which will restart in Hierapolis on June 1 and in Ephesus on June 4, it will be possible to visit these archaeological sites under the stars on warm summer evenings and experience an unforgettable history and culture experience.
