FRANSA'NIN MAVİ BAYRAK KARNESİ
For the 2025 summer season, 388 beaches and 104 marinas in France have been awarded the Pavillon Bleu (Blue Flag). Celebrating its 40th anniversary, the program promotes destinations that pioneer sustainable tourism.
492 Sites in France Receive Blue Flag for Summer 2025
The results of the 2025 Pavillon Bleu (Blue Flag) program, coordinated by the Teragir Association, which has been promoting environmentally friendly tourism practices in France since 1985, have been announced. Under the internationally recognized program, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, 388 beaches and 104 marinas in France have been awarded the Blue Flag.
182 municipalities are included in the 2025 list, with four new destinations appearing for the first time: Osselle-Routelle (Doubs), La Couarde-sur-Mer (Charente-Maritime), Soursac (Corrèze) and Gourdon (Lot). In addition, Larousselle Port in Charente-Maritime and Honfleur Port in Calvados were awarded the Blue Flag for the first time.
The Occitanie region leads the country with 120 certified beaches and ports, followed by Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (119 sites). The Var Department has the most Blue Flags in France, with 44 beaches and 15 ports.
Pavillon Bleu rewards not only cleanliness and environmental management criteria, but also initiatives to protect biodiversity. In 2025, the Thomas Joly Award was given to the Municipality of La Rochelle for its project to reconstruct the retro-littoral marsh in Tasdon. In addition, the Port of Dieppe was recognized for its plankton awareness efforts.
Today, the Blue Flag label flies on over 5,200 beaches and ports in more than 50 countries. Sustainability criteria have been strengthened by making a biodiversity inventory mandatory for beaches from 2023 and for ports from 2024.
