The EU will give free train tickets to 36,000 young people

The European Commission has announced that it will distribute 36,000 free travel passes to 18-year-olds residing in countries associated with the Erasmus+ program, including Turkey, for train travel to European countries.

In a written statement by the European Union (EU) Commission, it was reported that 36,000 travel passes will be provided to young people within the scope of the program called 'DiscoverEU' (Discover the EU). The statement noted that applications started today, and successful applicants will be able to travel throughout Europe by train for 30 days between July 1, 2025, and September 30, 2026.

The statement indicated that the requirements include being born between July 1, 2006, and June 30, 2007, and residing in EU countries or countries associated with the Erasmus+ program such as Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, and Turkey, and that applications will end on April 16 at 13:00 Turkish Standard Time.
