THY CARRIED 7.6 MILLION PASSENGERS IN MAY
Turkish Airlines (THY) announced that it served 7.6 million passengers in May, and the number of aircraft in the fleet increased to 484.
The Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) published THY's traffic results for May 2025. According to the published data, the airline company's total number of passengers, which was 7.3 million in May 2024, increased by 5.1 percent to 7.6 million in the same period of 2025. The number of external transfer passengers increased by 11.2 percent from 2.5 million in May 2024 to 2.8 million in the same period of 2025. The passenger occupancy rate in May 2025 increased by 1.3 points compared to the same period of 2024 and was recorded as 81.1 percent. In the same period, the international occupancy rate was 80.6 percent and the domestic occupancy rate was 86 percent. Total Available Seat Km (ASK) was 22.6 billion. Carried Cargo-Mail increased by 5.1 percent in May 2025 compared to 2024 and amounted to 183.4 thousand tons.
34 MILLION PASSENGERS IN 5 MONTHS
According to THY's 5-month traffic results for January-May 2025, the airline company carried 34 million passengers during the said period. While the number of external transfer passengers was 12.5 million in January - May 2024, it increased by 8.7 percent in the same period of 2025 to 13.6 million. The passenger occupancy rate increased by 0.8 points to 81.2 percent in January - May 2025 compared to the same period of 2024, while the international passenger occupancy was recorded as 81 percent and the domestic passenger occupancy was recorded as 83.5 percent. At the end of May 2025, the number of aircraft in the fleet increased to 484.
