NIGHT MUSEUMS SEASON STARTS
SICPA Turkey, within the scope of the "Night Museology" project implemented under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, enabled Ephesus and Hierapolis to open for night visits by illuminating a total area of 450 thousand square meters. SICPA Turkey CEO Sami Çebi, who shared the information that more than 260 thousand visitors visited the Ephesus Ancient City and more than 76 thousand visitors visited the Denizli Hierapolis Ancient City at night thanks to the project, said, "Especially in the summer months, local and foreign tourists who cannot visit these places during the day due to the heat, had the opportunity to visit both ancient cities until 23:00. The application restarts as of June. Turkey's night museology, which was a first last year, is now much better known at home and abroad. In the new season, we expect more visitors in both ancient cities than the 2024 figures."
The "Night Museology" application, which brings together Turkey's unique historical sites and rich cultural heritage with visitors in a completely different atmosphere after sunset and attracted great interest in its first year, is starting again in June. SICPA Turkey, which works to develop museum ticket and ticket products, strengthen sales channels, and generally improve the visitor experience in a total of 84 locations in museums and archeological sites affiliated to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, National Palaces and Çanakkale Area Presidency, continues to support Turkish tourism with the projects it has implemented. In this context, in 2024, the company illuminated 90 thousand square meters of the 930 thousand square meter Ephesus Ancient City and 360 thousand square meters of the 1 million 250 thousand square meter Denizli Pamukkale Ancient City, and brought them to night museology. Thanks to the application, approximately 350 thousand tourists visited both ancient cities at night between April and September 2024.
Within the scope of Night Museology, which will restart on June 1 in Hierapolis and June 4 in Ephesus, it will be possible to visit these ancient cities under the stars on warm summer evenings and have an unforgettable history and culture experience.
