HOTELS.COM TREND REPORT: SPRING INTEREST IN THE LYCIAN WAY
Hotels.com's annual trend report, Unpack '25, revealed that interest in the Lycian Way has risen again this spring. According to the report data, 63% of travelers prefer less-known routes away from the crowds. In line with these preferences, search data for the period between February 28 - March 19, 2025 and March 20 - April 8, 2025 shows a 45% increase in searches for Muğla and a 15% increase for Antalya.
Located in southwestern Turkey and covering a route of approximately 540 kilometers from Fethiye to Antalya, the Lycian Way continues to be one of the best examples of nature- and culture-based tourism that bears the traces of ancient civilizations. Its potential in terms of cultural heritage and hiking tourism is one of the main reasons why the Lycian Way stands out in the spring months.
Tourism professionals evaluate this increasing interest not only as a seasonal mobility but also as a strategic opportunity in terms of destination branding. It is expected that the route, which combines cultural heritage, nature walking, and sustainable travel elements, will be supported with more international promotion in the coming years.
