SMOKING BAN ON THE AGENDA FOR ALL BEACHES IN FRANCE
France is preparing to extend its smoking ban to include beaches, with the goal of protecting public health. Once the new regulation comes into effect, smoking will be prohibited on all beaches across the country.
The "smoke-free beach" initiative, previously implemented in certain regions, is planned to be expanded nationwide. The city of Cagnes-sur-Mer, a pioneer in this area, introduced a smoking ban on some coastal areas in 2018 and declared all its beaches smoke-free zones as of 2023.
With the new law coming into effect, it is anticipated that this practice will become standard throughout France. The law is considered among the steps taken to reduce environmental impacts and protect public health.
