RESEARCH: TRAVEL DISTANCE LENGTHENS AS AGE INCREASES

RESEARCH: AS AGE INCREASES, TRAVEL DISTANCE LENGTHENS

The "Travel Preferences" research conducted by Gazella Turizm in collaboration with Twentify revealed remarkable results regarding travelers' motivations and preferences. According to the findings, travel distance increases with age; while young people choose closer routes, older age groups gravitate towards distant and culturally rich destinations.

Among the 399 Gazella travelers who participated in the research, the proportion of those who traveled both domestically and internationally in the last year was 80%, while the frequency of international holidays was determined to be an average of 3-4 times. The most preferred regions for international holidays were Western Europe with 92%, Central/Eastern Europe with 76%, the Far East with 66%, and the Balkans with 55%. Africa and South America were among the moderately preferred destinations with a rate of 47%.

In the over 55 age group, the Far East (73%) and North America (61%) stood out, while younger age groups were observed to prefer closer geographies. At the forefront of holiday motivations was "seeing/discovering new places" with 85%, while "getting to know new cultures" (63%) particularly came to the fore in travels to the Middle East, Balkans, Africa, South America, and the Far East.

Velit Gazel, Chairman of the Board of Gazella Turizm, stated in his evaluation of the research, "The data we obtained clearly reveals what our travelers expect from their journeys. The fact that we are most often referred to as reliable, high-quality, and professional is the strongest indicator that we are on the right track."
