Göbeklitepe, which is described as the 'Zero point of history' with its 12,000-year history in Şanlıurfa, was flooded with visitors due to the Eid al-Fitr holiday. Visitors formed long queues at the entrance of Göbeklitepe, which was visited by 30,000 people during the 3-day holiday.

In Göbeklitepe, which was discovered in 1963 during surface surveys conducted by researchers from Istanbul and Chicago Universities and excavations were started in 1995 with the permission of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, 'T' shaped stelae with wild animal figures, dating back to the Neolithic period, 3 to 6 meters in length and weighing 40 to 60 tons, were discovered. Göbeklitepe, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List, hosts thousands of local and foreign tourists every year.

Thousands of people are also visiting Göbeklitepe during the 9-day Eid al-Fitr holiday. 30,000 people came to see Göbeklitepe in 3 days during the holiday. Long queues formed at the ancient site. Şanlıurfa Governor Hasan Şıldak said that the process proceeded smoothly with the measures taken during the holiday rush.
