TAXI HELICOPTER FLIGHTS HAVE STARTED
Taxi helicopter services have commenced between Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to provide VIP transportation. The application, launched by a private airline company, aims to make transportation between the two countries more comfortable and faster.
The first taxi helicopter flight took off from Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport and landed at Nicosia Ercan Airport. The Deputy Prime Minister of the TRNC, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu, and Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı were on this first flight.
Minister Ataoğlu stated that taxi helicopter services will contribute to the development of relations between Turkey and the TRNC. Ataoğlu emphasized that the service is offered for VIP transportation purposes, and said that helicopter flights will also be used on domestic routes in the TRNC in the future.
New Routes on the Way
Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı also stated in his statement that the application was implemented with the aim of facilitating transportation between the two countries. Arıklı said, "There will be flights to Adana and Mersin in the coming days," and stated that new routes will be announced soon.
