SATS – Creuers Cruise Services PTE LTD, which counts Global Ports Holding, one of the world's leading port operators in the cruise tourism sector, among its partners, has launched a 9-month renovation project at the Marina Bay Cruise Centre in Singapore. With an investment of approximately 40 million Singapore Dollars, the project will increase the terminal's annual passenger capacity from 6,800 to 11,700.

Improvements will include new check-in areas, updated passenger services and expanded transportation options. Throughout the works, the terminal will continue to operate for cruise ships and passengers.

Operation Extended Until 2037

As part of the project, the terminal's operating right was also extended from 2027 to 2037, with an 8-year extension and an optional 2-year extension. The Marina Bay Cruise Centre stands out as an important location, especially in terms of the development of cruise tourism in the Asia-Pacific region.

“Capacity Increase Will Strengthen Regional Leadership”

Mehmet Kutman, Chairman and CEO of Global Ports Holding, made the following statements on the subject:

“SATS–Creuers’ commitment to renovating the Marina Bay Cruise Centre demonstrates its goal of providing a world-class passenger experience. This renovation does not only mean an increase in capacity; it will also reinforce Singapore's position as the leading cruise destination in the region. We are also pleased to be a part of this important transformation process.”

The investments are expected to support the growth of cruise tourism in Asia and make Singapore a hub for larger volume cruise routes in the future.
