PAPA'NIN CENAZESİ ROMA OTELLERİNDE YILIN ZİRVESİNİ GETİRDİ
With the passing of the Pope, occupancy rates in Rome's hotels have risen rapidly. According to CoStar data, occupancy reached 88.8%, especially on the night before the funeral, April 25. On this date, the average daily room rate (ADR) was €351.13, while revenue per available room (RevPAR) reached €311.90. These figures mark the highest hotel performance in Rome in 2025.
The day after April 25, prices in all sub-regions of Rome showed double-digit increases. In particular, hotels in the city center saw an annual increase of 42.1%, with ADR rising to €786.89.
Alexander Robinson, STR Regional Director, said, "We often see the impact of major events on the hotel market across Europe; however, the Pope's funeral was only announced five days in advance. Achieving such high occupancy rates in such a short period of time creates an extraordinary picture."
Furthermore, the booking rate in hotels has already exceeded 84% before the new Pope election process (conclave) which will start on May 7. This rate stands out as the highest expected occupancy rate in the next 90 days.
