Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin met in the Chinese capital, Beijing.

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly met in the Chinese capital, Beijing. During the meeting, Xi stated that China and Russia, despite changes in the international situation, set an example for relations between major countries with their enduring good neighborliness, comprehensive strategic cooperation, and win-win approach. Xi noted that by intensifying high-level contacts with Russia, they would support each other in their development and rejuvenation processes, and further develop China-Russia relations.

Putin, for his part, stated that bilateral relations have reached their highest level in history, recalling Xi's official visit to Russia in May. Putin expressed that the solidarity and cooperation between the two countries form a solid foundation for bilateral relations in the new era.

Putin emphasized that the Global Governance Initiative, which Xi touched upon at the SCO Summit, is extremely timely and necessary, adding that this development would make a significant contribution to closing gaps in global governance.

At the end of the meeting, more than 20 cooperation agreements were signed in areas such as energy, space, and artificial intelligence.
